Objective:
To introduce a new student to aviation and discover how fun and usable a pilot certificate is.
Elements:
- Perform a preflight inspection of the aircraft - a must for safety!
- Explain the positive control method and convey clearly.
- Instruce on how to taxi (yoke does nothing on the ground), take-off, and land.
- Alow student to fly the airplane.
- Introduce basic flight maneuvers.
- Fly to another destination to show usability.
- Alow the student to enjoy the experience - there's nothing like it!
Common Errors (Instructor):
- Giving too much control to the student.
- Flying in less than ideal weather conditions.
- Being overley aggressive with the flight controls while demonstrating maneuvers.
- Failing to scan for traffic.
- Not talking to the student enough as they perform basic flight maneuvers.
- Failing to build confidence into the student that a pilots license is attainable.
- Scaring the student into not wanting to fly ever again!
